There is a missing pin on the brush. Why?

One hole is intentionally left without a pin in order to let air pass through, making the brush pneumatic.

Which kind of brush is right for my hair?

There is a very simple rule: the longer the hair the longer the brush's teeth should be.

Should I wash my brush?

It's a good hygienic rule to wash the brushes with water and neutral soap. Once it's washed, wipe with a towel, and not under a direct heat source.

Could I use a wooden comb while showering?

For sure, all Tek products are waterproof. For use under running water, combs with wide teeth are preferred. They are made with a double opposing grain that makes the structure of the comb very resistant. For easier distribution of balms or specific products on the lengths, we recommend a 2040-03 comb with handle.

Which is the difference between a bristles brush and a wooden teeth brush?

Brushes with wild boar bristles are perfect to give volume to the hair; brushes with wooden pins are perfect for the health of both hair and scalp.

Which is the difference between a thermal brush and a wild boar roll brush?

Thermal brushes allows for quick styling time, because it reflects the air heat of the hair dryer. Round brushes with wild boar bristles make hair shiny and straight.

How many times a day should I brush my hair?

There are no rules about this. However, we suggest using a brush at least 2 times a day (morning/evening), starting from the root and through the length of hair.

If I use a plastic comb or brush, what happens to my hair?

Brushes and combs with plastic pins are produced in a way that they can be imperfect, and, due to this imperfection, they can damage your hair. In addition, plastic causes static electricity. Wooden combs and brushes are perfectly smooth.

Which material is used for the pneumatic part of the brush?

All the pneumatic parts of Tek® brushes are produced with natural pure rubber, because it is soft and is antistatic. Plus, it's entirely biodegradable. We don't use any petroleum derivative in any of our brushes.

What kind of wood are Tek® brushes and combs made from?

All brushes and combs are made of ash wood. Pins are made of hornbeam wood because it's more flexible and so perfect for unravelling knots and brushing hair.

Why should I use brushes with wooden pins?

A wooden pin has many healthy functions: it massages the skin, absorbs the sebum excess, reactivates the blood circulation, and doesn't rip the hair. Finally, it's hypoallergenic and antistatic.

What kind of colourants are used to paint brushes and combs?

All Tek® items are coloured with non-toxic vegetal origin pigments, while the natural brushes and combs are treated with linseed oil and pure beeswax, to maintain the wood.

Which brush is perfect for a ponytail or different hairstyles?

We recommend a 1573 brush. It is made of cruelty-free eco-boar and nylon bristles: this mix allows better and easier picking up of hair.

I've got extensions. Which brush should I use?

For extensions, there's a specific brush: 6170-03. Produced with long wild boar bristles, it gives volume to the locks of hair and, thanks to its softness, it avoids any bonding keratin substance breaking.

I keep on losing hair. What should I do?

You can use specific anti-fall products, like shampoo and treatments. We suggest you use the scalp massage brush 1960-03 to apply both shampoo and other products. This massage brush reactivates the blood microcirculation.

I've got very curly hair. Which brush should I use?

For curly hair, the perfect brush is 1650. With its very long pins, it penetrates inside the curls, avoiding the risk of damaging the hair.

For creating waves or a particular bangs, which brush should I use?

The perfect brush is 1120. It's half-rounded and, if it is used with a hairdryer, allows to create perfect wave effects.

I've got a baby: better using a brush or a comb?

For newborns, it's better using the little brush with natural bristles (7180-03). It's extremely soft and just perfect to remove any trace of cradle cap. As the baby grows, use a brush with wooden pins (7190-03) or a small comb.

My child has very long hair, and cries every time I brush their hair. What can I do?

It's all normal because, until adolescence, the skin is very hypersensitive and, sometimes, it can be really painful. To avoid this, we suggest you use a 1650-03 brush with bending and very long pins. During the brushing, hold the hair in one hand and, with the other, brush gently starting from the ends.

How often shall I change my brush?

We highly recommend you change our brush every 2 years.

By using wooden brushes and combs, do we contribute to deforestation of the planet?

Tek® brushes are handmade with a 100% FSC® certificated woods. FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) is an international organisation to certify wood isn't as not coming from wild forests. Instead, through this organisation, we commit ourselves to replant any tree we're using, to promote a sustainable circle. Finally, each piece of wood is trackable through its whole journey.

Where do brushes' bristles come from?

There are different kinds of bristles: they can be synthetic or coming from animal – like wild boar –, or vegetal – like coconut or tampico. All bristles are sterilised. Finally, all bristles are certified and guaranteed.
